Huge stone for construction of Lord Ram idol sent to Ayodhya from Karkala

Karkala, Mar 18, 2023: A huge rock has been sent from Karnataka’s Karkala to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh for the construction of the idol of Lord Ram in the under-construction Ram Mandir.

Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal workers performed pooja and sent the stone in a huge truck to Ayodhya.On behalf of the Trust, stones are being brought from different parts of the country and even from Nepal to make the idol of Lord Ram. The work of making the idol has been entrusted to five artisans in the country. Any one of these stones will be used to sculpt the divine grand idol of Lord Ram which will be enshrined.

The stone from Karkala has been selected from a small hill on the banks of the Tungabhadra river in Karnataka.

Champat Rai, General Secretary of the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra, took to Twitter and released a new photo of the sanctum sanctorum where the idol of Lord Ram will be placed. In the picture shared by Rai, workers can be seen designing the white walls of the sanctum sanctorum.

According to the VHP, a grand ‘pran pratishtha’ (installation of the deity) ceremony will be organised at the upcoming Ram temple in Ayodhya in January 2024 before it is opened for devotees.

Meanwhile, the idol of Lord Ram Lalla will be installed at its original place in the upcoming temple in Ayodhya by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the third week of January 2024.
