House collapsed due to heavy rain

Mangalore, June 16: The heavy rains of June 15 Wednesday wrecked a house at Kalyani Souda in Goodshedde.

The house belonged to Umavathi Shetty, who had lodged a complaint with MCC Corporator Premanand Shetty, that her house has been damaged by the rain.

The complaint, however, evoked no response from the MCC, and when it rained heavily on June 15 Wednesday, part of the house collapsed, leading to a financial loss of Rs. 75,000. 

Umavathi, who was employed at Hotel Moti Mahal, had recently lost her job.
