House catches fire; family loses valuables worth Rs. 15 lakh

Bantwal, Nov 15, 2012: A house in Brahmarakootlu caught fire on the night of Nov 12 resulting in financial loss of around Rs. 15 lakhs.

 

 

The family lost cash, gold, and other valuables worth around Rs. 15 lakhs in the fire. 

Hemavathi, the owner of the house, had locked the house and gone with her family to attend a Deepotsava held in the locality when the house caught fire. Although neighbors and the fire fighting personnel put off the flames, they could not save the house and the valuables it contained. 

The family lost 15 sovereigns of gold, Rs. 15,000, important documents, and several other valuables. Nobody knows what caused the fire. 

MLA Ramanath Rai, who visited the family, said that he will help them. Tahsildar Anand Nayak, ZP member Chandra Prakash Shetty, and BJP President Padmanabha Kottary also visited the family.
