Homestay attack case hearing shifted to sessions court

Mangalore Jan 29, 2013 : The hearing into the Morning Mist Homestay attack case has been transferred to the District Sessions Court from the JMFC III Court. On January 28, Monday all the 37 persons arrested in connection with the case were produced before the Sessions Court.


homestay 1The judicial custody period of all the accused has been extended. According to Ravish Naik, Inspector in Mangalore Rural Police station, the case was transferred to the Sessions Court as per IPC as charges of  looting and assault were also involved.


The homestay attack  case took place on July 28,2012. Of the 37 arrested, two  are journalists who have been booked for not intimating the police  on time.


Seven more accused in the case are  still absconding and  non-bailable warrants have been issued against  them.
