Home Minister reviews law and order in coastal districts

Mangaluru, Aug 24, 2025: Karnataka Home Minister G. Parameshwara on Saturday reviewed law and order in Dakshina Kannada and Udupi districts, holding discussions with senior police officers on the ongoing SIT probe into the alleged mass burial of bodies at Dharmasthala and other pressing issues.

The meeting, held soon after his visit to Kapu, was attended by Police Commissioner Sudheer Kumar Reddy, IGP (Western Range) Amit Singh, SPs K. Arun (Dakshina Kannada) and Hariram Shankar (Udupi), and DCPs H.N. Mithun and K. Ravi Shankar.

Officials briefed the Minister on multiple matters, including enforcement of the night-time loudspeaker ban, steps to curb illegal sand mining and laterite quarrying, and measures to check drug abuse. The functioning of the Special Action Force, Coastal Security Police, and Anti-Naxal Force was also reviewed.
