Holy Rosary Church to celebrate Annual Infant Jesus Feast 2011 on Jan 16

Mangalore, Jan 15: The parish of the Holy Rosary Church of Alangar will celebrate its annual Infant Jesus Feast on Jan 16, Sunday on the church grounds. Rev. Dr. Isidore Fernandes, the bishop of Allahabad, will be the chief celebrant of the festive mass.















The preparation novena commenced on Jan 7 and was inaugurated by Rev. Fr. George Santhumayor OCD, the director of Carmel Hill, Mangalore.  Fr. Andrew D’Souza, the director of Mudipu Shrine, conducted the novena and prayed for the families.  Rev. Fr. Boniface Pinto, the director of DBCLC, Mangalajyothi, preached on the theme of dedicated life on the third day of the novena.

Rev. Fr. Herold Pereira, the parish priest of Paladka, preached about Jesus’ love for children on the fourth day of the novena. Rev. Fr. Franklin D’Souza, the youth director of Karnataka region, conducted the prayer service on the fifth day and spoke on “Jesus Loves the Youth.” Rev. Fr. Assissi Rebello, the parish priest of Hospet Church, conducted prayers on the sixth day. Special prayers were said for the workers.

A large number of devotees participated in the novena daily. Rev. Fr. Basil Vas, the parish priest, and the parish council invited devotes to participate in the Infant Jesus Feast 2011 celebrations at 4:30 p.m. on Jan 16, Sunday.
