
Puttur, Oct 31, ,2013 : Arun Kumar Puttila, leader of NaMo Bharath has warned that the VHP and Bhajrangdal were even ready to resort to a severe agitation by giving a Karnataka bundh call if the state government failed to hand over the Sowjanya case to the CBI.


Participating in a protest meet organized by VHP and Bhajrangdal in this regard in front of the Puttur Assistant Commissioner’s office, he said protests are being held across the state and people are participating in the protests irrespective of caste, creed or religion. He was also critical of the police department for trying to wash its hands off the case by arresting a mentally ill person on the charges of the crime.
Several among the gathering shed tears when Sowjanya’s mother Kusumavathi made an emotional appeal for justice to her deceased daughter who was brutally raped and killed.
Premalatha, President of Matra Mandali, Krishna Hamsatadka, Bhajrangdal leader, Madhava Poojari, advocate, Krishnaprasad, VHP leader and others were present.
A silent procession was also taken out from Darbe Circle to AC office.
