Hindu Suraksha Samithi stages protest seeking thorough probe into Akshatha case

Mangalore, Oct 3, 2013:The Hindu Suraksha Samithi of Adyar staged a protest at Adyar on October 2, Wednesday seeking a thorough probe into the recent case of suspicious death of Akshatha (18), a college student.

The highway was also blocked for some time as part of the protest. It may be recalled here that Akshatha who went missing mysteriously was found dead almost five days later on the Netravathi River banks at Mulihitlu on September 24.

Speaking on the occasion, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel charged the police department of effectively probing the case and added that the Akshatha case has been much neglected by the media which had highlighted the homestay and many other issues.

He also expressed his concern over the rising cases of atrocities on women. Nalin further  warned of severe protest in the days to come if the police failed to probe the Akshatha case thoroughly.

Hindu Jagarana Vedike leader Sathyajit Suratkal  who also spoke, said that the  Hindu community would take to streets if such incidents continued.
