Bengaluru, Sep 30, 2025: The Karnataka High Court has granted interim relief to activist Mahesh Shetty Timarodi by staying the externment order issued against him by the Puttur Assistant Commissioner until October 8.

On September 18, Puttur Assistant Commissioner Stella Varghese had ordered Timarodi’s externment to Manvi taluk in Raichur district. Challenging this, Timarodi filed a writ petition before the High Court.

The court also issued notices to the respondents — the State Home Department, the Puttur Assistant Commissioner, the Bantwal Sub-Divisional Police Officer, and the Belthangady Police Sub-Inspector — and adjourned further hearing.
