Hejamady: Truck rams auto-rickshaw, driver killed

Padubidri, Oct 17, 2025: In a tragic accident near the Hejamady bypass on National Highway 66 this morning, a truck collided with an auto rickshaw, resulting in the death of the rickshaw driver.

The deceased has been identified as Rafeeq (37), a resident of Mastikatte, Hejamady.

 

Rafeeq was reportedly on his way to the mosque early this morning in his auto rickshaw when a truck coming from the Mangaluru side rammed into his vehicle near the bypass. He sustained serious injuries and was immediately rushed to the hospital by locals, but was declared dead on arrival.

A case has been registered at the Padubidri Police Station.
