Heavy rain uproots massive tree, disrupts traffic on Mani–Mysuru Road

Bantwal, Jul 7, 2026: A massive tree was uprooted and fell across the road following heavy rain and strong winds near Mani in Bantwal taluk on Tuesday morning, disrupting traffic on the Mani–Mysuru Road for some time.

The fallen tree completely blocked the roadway, causing severe traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters. Schoolchildren on their way to classes, office-goers, and other travellers were stranded due to the obstruction.

Personnel from the concerned department later reached the spot and launched an operation to remove the tree. After the obstruction was cleared, normal traffic movement on the Mani–Mysuru Road was restored.
