Kadaba, Sep 11, 2013: State Health and Family Welfare Minister UT Khader has issued a stern warning to medical officers of Primary Health Centres who fail to discharge their duties effectively.
He was speaking after visiting the Primary Health Centre at Kola and after inspecting the site meant for the rehabilitation centre for Endosulfan victims at Alankar on September 10, Tuesday.
The Minister said legal action would follow against erring medical officers. The minister’s warning came after locals drew the attention of the minister towards the problems faced by them due to non-availability of doctors during night time at the Centre.
The minister also instructed the taluk health officials to visit all primary health centres of the taluk to have firsthand information of the problems. He further said the taluk health officials themselves will be held responsible in case they fail to report regarding medical officers who fail to discharge their duties effectively.
He also visited the Endosulfan victims’ day care centre at Kola and heard the problems of the affected people.
The minister even visited the residences of Endosulfan victims Puttumonu and Shashank at Suruli in Alankaru village and assured all help from the government.
Later, the minister even participated in the Sarvajanika Ganeshotsava celebrations at Athoor in Ramakunja.
