Mangaluru, Mar 13, 2026: Dakshina Kannada District Congress President Harish Kumar has raised suspicions about whether Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s silence is connected to the files related to the internationally sensational Jeffrey Epstein case. Speaking at a press conference held at the Congress Bhavan in Mangaluru, he strongly criticized the central government’s foreign policy.

He said that the names of several influential global leaders have surfaced in the Epstein case. “Speculation has arisen that Prime Minister Modi’s name might also appear in these files. Because of this, people are beginning to wonder whether he has compromised under pressure from the United States. Why has Modi not held even a single press conference on such serious issues that could affect the country?” Harish Kumar questioned.

Accusing the current Indian administration of functioning according to the directions of former U.S. President Donald Trump, he said, “By obediently following Trump’s instruction to stop purchasing oil from Russia, India is now unable to get oil at discounted rates. This has created an oil crisis in the country. If the government claims there are sufficient reserves, then why was ESMA (Essential Services Maintenance Act) invoked to control the situation?” he asked angrily.
