Hand over Ayodhya to Hindus, declares VHP

Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Nov 8, 2012 : The Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) has urged the central government to pass an order to present Ayodhya to Hindus.

Addressing the press VHP International President Champath Raiji said that, according to the findings of archeological studies conducted at the disputed site by Archeological Survey of India and a Canadian scientist using radar photography technology, an ancient Hindu temple existed at the site even before 1528. The central government had assured the Supreme Court that, in case any Hindu-related historical objects are found at the site, the disputed site will be handed over to the Hindus, he added.

Speaking about the significance of Ayodhya for Hindus, he said that Ayodhya is a Hindu cultural centre, which the central government is trying to convert into an Islamic centre by providing 100 acres of land. The VHP will not permit this, he added, urging Muslims to surrender the land to the Hindus and withdraw their case.

He also said that the central government’s proposal to open more abattoirs must be withdrawn because “the shedding of blood and sale of meat cannot be tolerated in the land where Lord Rama, Krishna, and Gautama Buddha were born.”

Raiji also urged the central government to make public records of Chinese aggression as 50 years have passed after China declared war on India in 1962. Stating that nobody related to the war would be alive now, he said that modern Indians have the right to know what happened in the early sixties. If the records are published, Indians will understand their mistakes, he added.

Regarding illegal immigrants from Bangladesh, Raiji said that the government must identify these people and withdraw from them the right to vote.

Among those present were VHP Divisional Secretary Krishnamurthy, M. B. Puranik, Sharan Pumpwell, and Keshava Hegde.
