Haj pilgrims given warm farewell ; Spl flights from Sept 7 to 12

Mangalore, Sep 7, 2013 : A function was held at the Mangalore airport premises on September 6, Friday to give a warm farewell to the first batch of Haj pilgrims who will leave for the holy pilgrimage tour.

 Speaking as a chief guest, UT Khader, Minister for Health and Family Welfare, said the government has assisted even people belonging to economically backward classes to go on Haj tours considering the fact that every devout Muslim has an ardent desire to go on the holy tour once in a life time.

Abhayachandra Jain, Minister for Youth Services and Sports, who also spoke urged  the pilgrims to pray with Allah for peace and harmony in the coastal districts.

 DK District Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar offered the duwa. Khazi Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal blessed the occasion. Moidin Bava, Mangalore North MLA presided over the function. JR Lobo, MLA of Mangalore South, State Haj Committee President MM Ahmed, Karnataka Wakf Board President Abdul Riyaz Khan, Yenepoya University Chancellor Y Abdulla Kunhi, Airport Director Radhakrishna, Muslim Central Committee President Mohammad Masood, District Wakf Board President Usman Haji, Mangalore Airport Director JT Radhakrishna and others were present.

The Special flights carrying Haj pilgrims will leave the Mangalore Airport every morning at 3.30 am from September 7 to 12. A total of 980 pilgrims from DK, Kodagu, Chikmagalur Hassan and other places   will embark on a Haj tour and will depart via the Mangalore airport.
