Grama Panchayat Election: 137 nominations received on Wednesday 21

Mangalore, April 22: A Total of 137 candidates have filed their nomination papers for the Grama panchayat elections in Dakshina Kannada Disitrict on the fist day of filing nominations. The motion of filing nomination began in Dakshina kannada district on Wednesday 21. The grama panchayat election will take place in the district in two phases.

Mangalore: A total of 17 candidates have filed nominations in five grama panchatyat, which comes under Mangalore taluk.


Deatail of nominations filed in GP as follows; Bala- 1, Kuppe Padav- 6, Boliyar- 6, Kinya- 3 and Beluvayi-1. The number of grama Panchayat is 49.  A total of 938 GP members including 407 women, are to be elected from this taluk.


Sullia: In Sullia Taluk, a total of 28 nominations, including 11 women candidates, were received. 13 male candidates, 7 female candidates have filed nomination under general category, and 4 male and a woman have been filed nominations under Scheduled caste and three persons have filed nomination under scheduled tribe category. The total number of grama panchayat in Sullya taluk is 46.


Deatail of nomination filed in GP as follow: Sampaje- 10, Aranthodu- 3, Aletty- 2, Subrahmanya- 5, Bellare- 4, Nelluru Kemraje- 3 and Jalsur-1.


Puttur Taluk : Three women filed their nominations in Puttur taluk on Wednesday. Voters will elect 563 GP members. 249 seats have been reserved for women. Total number of Grama panchayat is 37.

 

Bantwal Taluk : A total of 804 GP members are to be elected from Bantwal taluk, out of which, 357 seats have been reserved for women. Five candidates have filed their nominations on Wednesday in Bantwal taluk.

 

Belthangady Taluk : A total of 583 representatives including 268 women candidates, are to be chosen from Belthangady taluk. 84 nominations have been filed on Wednesday.
