Govt vehicle driver plunges into lake to rescue 2 drowning kids

 Kaup, Oct 24, 2013 : In an act of exemplary bravery and courage, a government jeep driver risked his own life to  save two children from drowning in  a lake at Ambadi near Katapady here on October 23, Wednesday.

The rescued children are Shravya and Shreyas while Guruprasad Shetty is the Good Samaritan who saved two precious lives.

The incident took place when a team of officials led by CDPO Sadananda Nayak  were inspecting Anganavadi centres near Katapady.

Shetty  who had escorted the officials to the place,  noticed  the children downing in a nearby lake and  rushed to their aid.

 

Shetty’s act of bravery has been widely appreciated.
