Good Friday solemnly observed across city

Mangalore, April 6, 2012 : Good Friday, one of the most significant days for Christians worldwide, was observed in parishes all over Mangalore on April 6 Friday.

The faithful in hundreds and thousands across the district visited their local churches to offer prayers and participate in the Good Friday rituals.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Each church organized the Way of the Cross, depicting the circumstances surrounding the death of Jesus Christ. In Milagres Church, images representing the 14 stations of the Way of the Cross have been placed on the compound wall and the Way of the Cross was held outdoors.

The Good Friday ceremony included reading of the story of the Passion of Christ, reciting prayers, unveiling and venerating the cross, and the Holy Eucharistic celebration.
