Gold hidden in coffee mug, LED lights seized at airport

Mangalore, Feb 12, 2014:   One more gold smuggler  has been caught at the Mangalore International Airport on February 12, Wednesday evening.

In this case,  the Customs officials have seized 3 ten tola Gold Bars and 3 Gold strips totally weighing 466.600 gms, valued at Rs 14.20 lakhs concealed in one coffee mug, one Led emergency light, one LED lamp and one LED switch light all together packed in a carton box. The accused passenger arrived by an Air India Express Flight IX820 from Bahrain  at 6.30 pm.

 

 

 

He has been identified as Aboobakkar Siddique, a resident of 5/ 252, Kottakkani house, Kottakkani, Madhur in Kasargod district, Kerala state.

He has been taken into custody and the investigation is on.
