Goa CM unveils statue of Vishwa Konkani Sardar Late Basti Vaman Shenoy

Mangaluru, Feb 09, 2023: The brass statue of Vishwa Konkani Sardar Late Basti Vaman Shenoy was unveiled by Goa Chief Minister Dr Pramod Sawant at the World Konkani Centre at Shaktinagar on February 8, Wednesday on the occasion of Vishwa Konkani Samaroh.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Sawanth also unveiled the portrait of former Goa CM late Manohar Parikkar and  inaugurated the Centre for Excellence for Empowerment of Konkani people and an exhibition hall.

In his address, the Goa Chief Minister described the Vishwa Konkani Samaroh as an opportunity to get the Konkani community together. He stressed the  need for further patronage to Konkani.

Dr P Dayanand Pai, Chairman of Konkani Bhas ani Sanskriti Pratishtan, Mangaluru South MLA Vedavyas Kamath, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, entrepreneur Ullas Kamath, World Konkani Centre President  Nandagopal Shenoy, entrepreneur and Hangyo Chief Pradeep G Pai and others were present.

World Konkani Centre President Nandagopal Shenoy who donated the Central Hall and Dr Ramesh Naik Maira, the donor of the exhibition hall were honoured on the occasion.
