Girl falls into manhole at Bejai; sustains injuries

Mangaluru, Nov 17:  A 12 year old girl who was walking along with her mother  on the  Bejai Sankaigudde road sustained injuries when she accidentally fell into an open manhole on November 15, Tuesday night.

It is said the girl was taken unawares  when she stepped on a plastic sheet on the roadside.

She has been hospitalised. A case has been registered against the MCC engineer and contractor  overseeing road maintenance works.

It is hoped that this mishap in which the girl was lucky enough to escape with injuries comes as a warning to the MCC authorities who have not taken any step to repair the broken cement slabs above side drains at many places.
