Ghastly mishap: Lucky car driver escapes with minor injuries

Mangalore, Aug 10, 2014:  The driver of a Swift car heading towards Suratkal from Mangalore  might be thanking his stars for his  good  luck. If not that he would not  have survived in a macabre accident between his car and a gas tanker  near Kulur on August 9, Saturday.

The car driven by Uday Kumar was caught in a traffic snarl at Kulur on  Saturday evening. The car was in between two gas tankers.  When the tanker that was behind all of a sudden went out of control and crashed against the car from the rear, the car moved ahead and rammed into the tanker which was ahead and was virtually crushed between the two tankers. Though the car was smashed, Uday Kumar  suffered only some minor  injuries.

A case has been registered by Suratkal traffic police.
