Gap between the industry and academia is the main reasons for unemployment: Ronald Fernandes

Mangaluru, Mar 06, 2021: Gap between industry and academia and taking up a course without proper knowledge is the two main reasons for unemployment, said Dr. Ronald Anil Fernandes, member of Karnataka Public Service Commission, Govt. of Karnataka.

He was speaking after inaugurating the Career day program ’MERAKI’ organised by University Employment Information and Guidance Bureau (UEIGB), Mangalore University on 5th March 2021.

He further said “India is having great youth power, to achieve the goals they need motivation from others”. He said career guidance cell of any institute will surely help in bridging the gap between the industry and academia and also provide proper knowledge to the students.  Passing of KAS exam in coastal region is least, the reason is candidates of southern region assume trying again and again is a failure, while it is considered as inspiration by the candidates of northern region of Karnataka.

He also suggested 5 tricks to clear competitive examination.
a. Daily read News paper
b. Don’t Give up
c. Try to explore and plan accordingly
d. Sacrifice comfort zone
e. Exercise daily and maintain health

The program was presided over by Prof. P. Subrahmanya Yadapadithaya, Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Mangalore University. In his presidential remarks, sir persuaded students not to give up, first deserve and then desire, have patience, endurance of highest order and perseverance. He also said, one should have willingness, knowledge, attitude and values, to be competent. Students need to be smart performers to grab the opportunities.

K Raju Mogaveera, Registrar, Mangalore University, briefed the students about the “Career day” and urged that the main objective of UEIGB is to answer the questions and assist students regarding employment.

Dr Preethi Keerthi Dsouza, the Chief, UEIGB, gave away the preamble of UEIGB. She also introduced and welcomed the gathering-  S.R. Rashmi,  Tahsildar and Taluk Magistrate, Bantwal.
