Fun turns into tragedy : 2 youth drowned ; 2 others rescued at Sasihitlu

Mangaluru, July 08, 2019:  In a tragic incident  reported from  Sasihitlu on Sunday,  two youth who  had ventured into the waters   with their friends  are feared drowned  while two others have been rescued.  Tragedy struck when a   group of seven youth who had arrived to participate in a marshy field  sports meet near Sasihitlu on Sunday, had  decided to make merry after they lost in the event in the first round itself.

 

The two who are feared drowned are Sujith (32  of Bajpe Siddarth Nagar and Guruprasad (28) of Kavoor. Meanwhile Srujan and Karthik of Bajpe have been rescued by locals. Srujan who is severely ill has been admitted to a private hospital in Mangaluru.

It is learnt  all the four were part of a seven member team from Bajpe Yuva Tiger who had come  to take part in the contest. It is said after they lost in the event  they had begun playing in the waters despite several warnings from the locals.
