Fudar Prathishtan felicitates toppers in diocesan schools

Mangalore, Feb 26, 2012: Fudar Prathishtan organized a felicitation event in Milagres Jubilee Hall on Feb 26 Sunday to honor the toppers in SSLC, PUC, Degree, and PG courses in Mangalore Diocese. 

Vice President Fr. Walter D’Mello delivered the welcome address and Bishop of Bellary Henry D’Souza delivered the inaugural address.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later, Fudar Prathishtan felicitated the bishop with a shawl, fruits, and a garland. 

Arun Furtado, the district social welfare officer, said on the occasion that, although the Christian community is small in number, it is number one in the field of education. Speaking about the high percentage of youth in the country, he said that the talents and power of the youth must be utilized, just as the US had done when it had a high percentage of youth. 

Frank Fernandes, the managing director of Mosaco Shipping, congratulated the toppers and spoke of the need to utilize the power of the youth. 

Fudar Prathistan honoured 133 toppers from schools all over the diocese with flowers and mementos. Among those honoured were Pramila Pinto, Roshan Ferrao, and Royston Pinto. 

President John D’Silva, Secretary L. J. Fernandes, and Catholic Sabha Mangalore President Walter Cyril Pinto were among the dignitaries on the dais.
