Freedom fighter Kedambadi Ramayya Gowda’s bronze statue to be unveiled on Nov 19

Mangaluru, Nov 11, 2022: The bronze statue of Kedambadi  Ramayya Gowda, a great freedom fighter who fought against the British way back in 1837 by bringing together farmers, will  be unveiled at Bavutagudda by Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai and Adichunchanagiri Mutt Chief Dr Nirmalananda Maha Swamiji at a grand ceremony on November 19.

MLA D Vedavyas Kamath gave this information at a preparatory meet held at the  Mangala Auditorium of the MCC on November 11, Friday.

He said a function would be held at the football grounds of Nehru Maidan where an estimated 25,000 people will participate. The CM will also lay foundation for various projects on the occasion, he added.

Kamath said the event will be organised by the MCC, Kannada and Culture Department in association with various other departments. Several Union, State Ministers and elected representatives will take part, he added.

Mayor Jayananda Anchan, Deputy Mayor Poornima, MCC Commissioner Akshy Sridhar, DCP (Traffic and Crime) Ramesh and others were present.
