Four killed, two critically injured in head-on collision between KSRTC bus and car near Teerthahalli

Teerthahalli, January 14, 2026: Four people died and two others were critically injured when a KSRTC bus and a car collided head-on near Bharathipur in Teerthahalli taluk on Tuesday around 10 PM.

The KSRTC bus was traveling from Teerthahalli to Raichur, while the car was coming from Davanagere via Shivamogga en route to Sringeri when the accident occurred.

Those who died in the car included 70-year-old Fatima, 15-year-old Rihan, 9-year-old Rahil, and other children. A woman passenger and the driver were treated at JC Hospital in Teerthahalli and later referred to Narayana Heart Hospital in Shivamogga for further treatment.

The victims in the car were from Sringeri and had attended a wedding in Channagiri, Davanagere district before returning home when the accident took place.

Teerthahalli police arrived at the scene and facilitated road traffic. A case has been registered at Teerthahalli police station in connection with the accident.
