Four arrested for stabbing youth in Mangaluru

Mangaluru, June 18, 2023: Four youths in their early 20s were arrested by the North station police for their alleged involvement in the attempted murder of a youth on June 16th night near St Aloysius College compound at Light House Hill Road, Mangaluru.

The apprehended individuals are Mohammed Tufail (20) from Mallikatte, Mohammed Afrid (19) from Neeru Marga, Maqsood Saag (21) from Neeru Marga, and Abdul Sattar (19) from Bolara.

A minor girl from Kinnigoli, who was also part of the assault, will be produced before the Juvenile Justice Board for the offence. The minor girl had contacted
Nidish via Instagram and requested a meeting at the public area opposite St Aloysius College on Light House hill road in the city.

Upon reaching the designated location, Nidish and Neelesh found themselves embroiled in a fight instigated by monor girl and her companions Tufail, Afrid, Saag, and Sattar, who arrived in an Alto Car. During the altercation, the accused verbally abused Nidish and deliberately stabbed him. The four were arrested from an apartment in Baithurli in Kudupu. Sudden provocation is thought to be the reason behind the assault, said the commissioner.
