Former Vice President of KCCI, businessman G Vishwanath Kamath passes away

Mangaluru, May 06, 2020: Former Vice President of Kanara Chamber of Commerce and Industries,  Secretory of GSB Temples Assn, eminent businessman, G Vishwanth Kamath passed away at 3.45 PM, here  on Tuesday, May 05, 2020. He was 76 years. He is survived by his wife, son and two daughters.

Vishwanath Kamath was the former Vice President of KCCI,  Secretory, Bunder Merchants Assn.,  President of APMC yard, Baikampady Merchants Assn. for 15 years.


Vishwanath Kamath was a prominent GSB leader and proprietor of SVK Agencies, Bunder, wholesale dealer of Pulses, Chillies and food grains for the past 50 years. He started as a partner in UDH Nayak and Co. Bunder, Mangalore. Later his own firm, SVK Agencies, dealing with pulses, chillies and other food grains since 1994.

He was the Secretory, GSB Temples Assn. for 13 years;  served as an active member of Kashimath Samsthan for the past three dacdes. He was the secretory of ’Swarna Pallakhi’ committee at Sri Venkatramana Temple, Car street, Mangalore. He also served as member of Advisory council for the Jeernodhara of Sri Venkatramana Temple. He was one of the members of ‘Agrashala and Sabhagriha’ jeernodhara project of Shree Kudtari Mahamaya temple, Mangalore. He was a member of Vyavasthap samithi of Tirumala Kashi Math. He was also the GPA holder of His Holiness Srimad Sudhindra Tirtha Swamiji.


He was a generous donor for many social and religious causes in Mangaluru. He had contributed grocery and essential food items to the needy during the recent lockdown period. He advised his children to take forward his legacy in serving the society.
