Mangalore, Oct 21, 2013: Former DySP Harishchandra takes charge as superintendent of police of Mescom vigilance department at a formal function held at Mescom office on October 21, Monday.
Mescom vigilance DySP Vinay Gaonkar handed over the charge to SP Harishchandra. Speaking on the occasion he said that Mangalore vigilance department handles four districts including DK, Udupi, Chikmagalur and Shimoga and each district has one vigilance police station.
He also said that the department will book charges against the staff involved in corruption and bribery. Apart from it, the department will investigate the theft cases on receiving the complaints and take strict action against the culprits.
After taking over the charge SP Harishchandra said that he has served in Anti-Naxal Force, police training school and IGP (Western Range) department as DySP. Further in his one year tenure he will serve the department and people to his best and lead a satisfied retired life.
Mescom executive engineer Ram Raj, DK inspector Shantharam, Udupi inspector T R Jayashankar, Shimoga inspector Nagaraj, Chikmagalur inspector M V Mallapur and others were present.
The outgoing SP P V Suresh has already taken charge as DSP of Sagar.
