Mangalore Today News Network

Mangalore, Dec 6, 2011 :  Media persons, who waited eagerly for over an hour for B. S. Yeddyurappa, the former chief minister of Karnataka, at the Maryhill Helipad on Dec 6 Tuesday, were in for a disappointment because he chose to ignore them completely when he finally arrived.

The former chief minister was scheduled to visit Mangalore to participate in a Vajapeya Yajna, which is being held at Kalladka. He was expected to arrive at 9:30 a.m., but arrived at least over an hour late for unknown reasons.

News and TV channel reporters, however, patiently waited for him because they wanted to ask him a number of questions, especially regarding the defeat of the BJP candidate in the Bellary by-poll.

Local BJP leaders Rajagopal Rai and Shrikar Prabhu were present at the helipad to receive the former chief minister, but MPs, ministers, and MLAs had stayed away. The police personnel were around to provide security.

Finally, Yeddyurappa arrived with MP Renukacharya. He carefully avoided the reporters and got into a car that was waiting for him.

The former chief minister is expected to return to Bangalore this afternoon.
