Forest officials seize valuable wood ; 1 arrested

Puttur, Oct 23, 2013 :  Forest officials have arrested one person on the charges of smuggling wood in a pick-up vehicle at a place called Ankatadka in Paltadu village on October22, Tuesday.

The arrested man is identified as Aboobakker of Madavu, the driver of the vehicle. The value of the seized wood and the vehicle has been estimated at Rs 3 lakhs.

The operation was conducted under the leadership of Puttur Range Forest Officer P Sridhar.
