Fond Farewell extended to outgoing IGP, Gopal B Hosur

Mangalore, August 25: IGP, Western Range, Gopal B Hosur who has been transferred to Bangalore as Additional Commissioner of Police, was given a warm farewell by the public in the city on Wednesday, August 25.

Dr Mohan Alva, Chairman of Alva’s group of Education, who was the chief guest of the function asserted that out going IGP Gopal Hosur has discharged his duties ably and tackled complex issues in Western range for the past three years. He hailed IGP for his dedicated service in police - public relationship.

 
Gopal Hosur has proved himself as one of the most efficient police officers serving in the state police in tackling Naxal and terrorism menace he said.


Anantakrishna Bhat, Ex-Officio Chairman, Karnataka Bank, V Ponnuraj, DC, Dakshina Kannada district, B R Bhat, General manager, Corporation Bank , M R Vasudeva  Air Port Director, Mangalore, were among other personalities present on the occasion.


Gopal B Hosur joined Karnataka State Police force in 1980 in the rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police. He was later promoted to the IPS cadre. He took over as Inspector-General of Police (Western Range) on February 18, 2009 and was in charge of Udupi, Uttara Kannada, Dakshina Kannada and Chickmagalur districts and he heads the Anti-Naxal Force in the state.
