Floating bridge has suffered no damage, clarify organisers

Udupi, May 09, 2022: Following social media rumours that the newly  inaugurated floating bridge at Malpe has collapsed  following turbulent weather, the  lease holder  Sudesh Shetty who is also the proprieter of Dial Mantra has made it clear that the  rumours were baseless.

He claimed that the blocks of the bridge were  disconnected to avoid damage due to the  adverse weather conditions. "It was owing to this that some of the blocks were found floating this morning," he added.

He also dismissed rumours that there were casualties, and said nothing like that has happened and clarified that the bridge was presently closed following the directive from the district administration to suspend all water sports activities due to inclement weather.
