Five fishermen survive in boat accident

Mangalore, Oct 3, 2012: Five fishermen, who were returning after a 2-day fishing trip, survived a boat accident near the southern wharf in Mangalore.

 

The fishing vessel called New Star turned over and drowned because of engine trouble, near the mouth of the estuary. Some fishermen, who noticed that the fishing vessel was in trouble, rescued all the five fishermen. 

Rajesh and Latheef, two of the fishermen who were on board, said that they have suffered a loss of Rs. 14 lakh because they have lost their catch and fishing equipment.
