Five achievers to be conferred with 11th Rachana Awards on Nov 17

Mangalore, Oct 31, 2013: The 11th Rachana Awards will be conferred on five achievers at the ceremony to be held at Milagres Jubilee Hall on November 17, Sunday at 6:30 pm.

Speaking at the press meet held at Press Club on October 31, Thursday, Ivan D’Souza, president of Rachana said that the Entreprenuer of the Year  Award will be conferred on Rohan Monteiro, Outstanding Woman of the Year Award on Jacqueline Colaco, Agriculturist of the Year Award on Prof Edmund Frank, Professional of the Year Award on Dr Stanislaus F D’souza and NRI Entrepreneur of the Year Award on Lawrence Mendonca.

Bishop of Mangalore Dr Aloysius Paul D’Souza will preside over the ceremony, while union minister for transport Oscar Fernandes will be the chief guest. Dr Shantharam Shetty and MLA J R Lobo will the guests of honour will participate as the guests of honour.

Ivan also said that Dr Derek Lobo, Dr Errol Pinto, Eulalia D’Souza, Felix Pinto, Fr F X Gomes, Gilbert D’Souza, Capt J P Menezes, Marcel Monteiro, Marjorie Texeira, Dr Meera Aranha, Dr Norman Mendonca, Roy Castelino, Walter D’Souza, Felix Albuquerque and C J Lobo are members of selection committee.

Rachana Awards convener Ronald Gomes, former president Marcel Monteiro and PRO William Rebello were present at the press meet.
