Fishing expedition turns tragic; Hejamady resident dies

 Padubidri, May 20, 2014 : In a tragic incident, a fisherman lost his life after getting entangled in the fishing  net and falling  into the sea at Hejamady here in the wee hours of May 19, Monday.

The deceased is Nitin A Putran (40), a resident of near Hejamady Kunder Moolasthana. Nitin along with Satish Putran, Ratnaker Karkera and Purushottam Suvarna had ventured into fishing  at around 8 pm in the trawl boat owned by Vijaya Bangera.

At around 2 am, when they threw the fishing net to the seas, it’s rope got entangled in Nitin’s leg and he fell off guard into the river. Though the others on sensing danger immediately pulled back the net, Nitin had breathed his last by then.

Nitin who is survived by his mother, two brothers and a sister was the sole bread winner of his family.

A case has been registered in Padubidri police station.
