Fisherman dies in fishing accident

Kundapur, June 19, 2012: A fisherman died in a fishing accident on River Kubja in Kandlur on June 18, Monday. 

The deceased is Sankayyanamane Shekhar Poojary (38) who went fishing with a couple of other fishermen. Their boat lost its balance in the heavy rains, throwing all three of them into the river. While two fishermen managed to swim to safety, Shekar lost his life. 

Shekar’s death has made many people sad because he was an expert swimmer who had saved a number of people from drowning. Besides, he got married just last year.
