Fish Worker Killed as Light Pole Collapses at Mangaluru Dock

Mangaluru, Feb 22, 2026: A 35-year-old fish worker was killed after a light pole snapped from its base and fell on him at the city dock area on Sunday morning.

The deceased has been identified as Murugan, a native of Tamil Nadu.

According to reports, the incident occurred while Murugan was carrying a box of fish at the dock. The light pole suddenly broke and collapsed on him, causing severe injuries.

He was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital, but doctors declared him dead on arrival, locals said.
