Fire partially guts house at Mangaladevi

Mangalore, Feb 9, 2014:  A house belonging to a woman  at Mangaladevi was  partially damaged in a fire which broke out on February 8, Saturday.  The loss has been estimated at Rs 2 lakh.

The wedding of Kasturi’s daughter  is scheduled to be held on February 9, Sunday at Puttur and the family was busy preparing for the wedding in another house which it had taken for rent.

Luckily, no one was in the  house which caught fire though it was at this house that the mehendi ceremony was held earlier.

Though the exact cause of the fire is not known, a short circuit is suspected to be the reason. Fire tender vehicles which rushed to the spot helped in putting out the fire. Pandeshwar police have registered a case.
