The FFI says that the hike in service tax will have an adverse effect on the public as they will have to pay service tax along with the ticket rate for every movie ticket they purchase.

Mangalore film theatres such as Prabhath, Jyothi, New Chithra, Suchithra, Shrinivas, Central, Ramakanthi, and others have put up a board stating that films will not be shown on this day.

However, Adlabs in Bharath Mall is selling movie tickets and showing films. A number of students stood in queues, waiting for their turn to purchase tickets for Ek Main Au Ek Tu starring Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan.
