Mangaluru, Nov 28, 2021: Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner Dr Rajendra K V has said that checking at the border areas of Dakshina Kannada has been intensified in the wake of the fear of a third wave and the detection of a new strain of Coronavirus abroad.
The DC said as per the orders of the Chief Minister, additional police personnel as well as officials will be deputed on duty at the borders to intensify screening and checking of passengers.
RT-PCR negative reports will be mandatory to travel from the district to Kerala and from there to Dakshina Kannada. It has also been directed to screen students who have arrived from Kerala during the past 15 days, the DC said.
He said the airport authorities have assured to provide a list of those who returned to Dakshina Kannada from South Africa during the past 15 days.
