Mangaluru, Jun 17, 2026: Expert Group of Institutions hosted its first-ever Alumni Meet, bringing together former students from coaching batches spanning 1986 to 2008. Held at Ocean Pearl under the theme “Reconnect, Relive, Reunite,” the event provided alumni an opportunity to revisit memories, reconnect with classmates and mentors, and celebrate the institution’s journey.
The programme began with the traditional lighting of the lamp, followed by a welcome address by Prof. Narendra L. Nayak, Founder and Chairman of Expert Group of Institutions. Reflecting on the evolution of Expert Coaching Classes since its establishment in 1986, Prof. Nayak recalled its modest beginnings alongside his brother, CA S.S. Nayak. He said the institution had not only shaped his professional career but had also given him lifelong relationships and an extended family. He added that the greatest reward for a teacher is witnessing students surpass their mentors in achievement.
A special presentation titled “EXPERT – From One Classroom to a Lifelong Community” was delivered by Mr. Ankush N. Nayak, Director – IT, highlighting the institution’s transformation from a small coaching centre into one of Karnataka’s leading educational institutions.
Dr. Ushaprabha Nayak, Vice Chairperson, shared her experiences in a presentation titled “The Journey of Expert or My Journey with Expert.” Reflecting on her transition from student and faculty member to Vice Chairperson, she noted that the institution had grown from a single classroom with 52 students to a vibrant campus with 52 classrooms. She credited the commitment of Team Expert and generations of students for the institution’s success.
Dr. Shivabasava Swamy, Founder of Sri Mruthyunjaya Health Care and Davangere Child Care Hospitals and an alumnus of the 2004–06 batch, presented his vision for “Expert Seva Divas,” highlighting the institution’s social service and community outreach initiatives. Speaking on the influence of Expert on generations of students, he said the institution had played a significant role in shaping their lives and urged alumni to contribute meaningfully to society as the institution approaches its Golden Jubilee.
One of the highlights of the event was the nostalgic segment, “Down the Memory Lane,” where alumni shared memorable experiences and milestones from their student days. Distinguished alumnus Dr. Sajjan Shenoy, a rheumatologist and former CET first-rank holder, also addressed the gathering and reflected on the values instilled by the institution.
The reunion brought together accomplished professionals from diverse fields, including medicine, engineering, academia, business and finance. Among those present were CA S.S. Nayak, CA Shantharam Shetty, CA Srinivas Kamath, Dr. Jostol Pinto, Mr. Mahesh Kamath, Mr. Vinod A.R. Pinto, and several other distinguished alumni. Members of the management, including Ar. Deepika A. Nayak, coaching alumnus and Trustee, and Ustaad Rafiq Khan, also attended the event.
