
Mangaluru, Apr 10, 2026: Students of Expert PU College, Mangaluru, delivered an outstanding performance in the II PUC board examinations held in March 2026, with Nandan Nayak and Samanyu S Shetty emerging as state second rank holders in the Science stream, scoring 598 out of 600.

Adding to the achievement, five students secured 596 marks to claim the third rank in the state. They include Amogh B Loka, Aditi I Reddy, Sushan Narayana Billava, Abhishek R Hanamantagoudar, and Deeksha Shenoy. Three students—Shrivathsa M, Sumedha M, and Sharangee U S—scored 595 marks.
A strong cohort of high scorers followed, with five students scoring 594 marks, another five scoring 593, six students each securing 592 and 591, and eight students scoring 590. In total, 40 students from the college figured among the top 10 ranks in the state.
Nandan Nayak and Samanyu S Shetty also achieved perfect scores in four subjects. Several others posted exceptional performances, contributing to the institution’s remarkable results.
Out of 1,569 students who appeared for the examinations, all passed with first-class marks. The results reflect consistent academic excellence, with 11 students scoring above 99%, 77 above 98%, 173 above 97%, and 325 above 96%. As many as 497 students scored above 95%, while 1,134 crossed 90%, 1,425 secured above 85%, and 1,515 students achieved more than 80%.
In terms of subject-wise centums, Mathematics recorded the highest with 153 perfect scores, followed by Sanskrit (117), Biology (88), Chemistry (52), Kannada (29), Physics (27), and Computer Science (26). Other subjects with centums included Home Science and Hindi (5 each), Statistics (3), and Electronics, French, and English with one each.
Notably, five students scored 100 marks in four subjects, 21 in three subjects, 83 in two subjects, and 254 students secured centums in one subject.
Congratulating the achievers, Prof Narendra L Nayak, Chairman of Expert Group of Institutions, commended the students for their dedication and perseverance. He noted that the institution has continued its tradition of excellence in both board examinations and national-level competitive tests.
