Excise team seizes 432 litres illegal liquor

Mangalore, Mar 21, 2012: The excise department has seized 432 litres of liquor, which was being transported from Goa to Kerala from the railway over bridge near Alape Padil on March 21 Wednesday. 


Chethan Kumar, the excise commissioner, acted on the instructions of Prashanth Kumar K., the excise sub inspector; K. C. Haridas, the excise join commissioner of Mangalore division; and B. V. Hoovappa Gowda, the excise deputy commissioner of DK.

The excise officers have also seized a Maruti Zen car from Vishwanath alia Vasanth (34), Manoj Kumar, and Anil Kumar (29) of Kasargod and arrested them at around 3:30 p.m. 


The excise team conducting the raid comprised Inspector M. K. Keshava Murthy, Sub Inspector B. S. Devarajappa, and constables Pradeep Kumar, Ganesh Shetty, Manju C. Basavaraju, Parashivamurthy, and others.
