Elected reps must sensitize public on Govt schemes : Abhaya

Moodbidri, Sep 11, 2013 :  State Youth Services and Fisheries Minister K Abhayachandra has requested elected representatives as well as the media to sensitize the public on the various social security schemes introduced by the government.

Presiding over a Pension Adalat held at the TMC office here, Abahaychandra said  the Adalat is held  to select beneficiaries on the basis of the BPL list and income certificates. He also urged the public to benefit from the programme and added the Adalat will also accept grievances regarding pension.

On this occasion the minister distributed  pension sanction letters to  a total of 57 beneficiaries under Sandhya Suraksha, old age pension, pension for the widows and handicapped schemes.

Dr Prashanth, Commissioner, Rayappa, TMC Chief Officer, Shivakumar, Tahsildar and others were present.
