Elderly woman murdered in Kulai

Mangalore, Feb 9, 2014: An elderly woman who was all alone in her house at Kulai was brutally hacked to death by unidentified assailants on February 8, Saturday night. The incident is learnt to have taken place at around 9 pm.

The deceased is Sumathi. Her house was located near the Kulai Daivasthana and she was alone in the  house. Her son is a theatre artiste. The suspicion is that the murder might be the handiwork of some known persons. It is also being said that  the assailants had killed Sumathi to lay hands on her gold and cash.

Suratkal police are investigating the case. More details awaited.
