Elderly Man Killed After Being Hit by Speeding Car Near Kapu

Kapu, Aug 24, 2025: A 70-year-old man was killed after being hit by a speeding car on National Highway 66 near Koppalangadi, close to Kapu, around 3:30 pm on Sunday.

The victim has been identified as Peeru Saheb of Koppalangadi. 

According to police, the car was travelling from Mangaluru towards Udupi when it struck him as he attempted to cross the road.

Saheb sustained grievous injuries and succumbed while being shifted to a private hospital in Udupi. Kapu police have registered a case and are investigating the incident.
