Eight achievers to receive Sandesha Awards-2024

Mangaluru, Jan 21, 2024: The recipients of the ’Sandesha Awards-2024’ have been announced by the Sandesha Foundation for Culture and Education, recognizing the outstanding achievements of 7 individuals in various fields and a Special Award to Jana Shikshana Trust.

Speaking to reporters on Saturday, Fr Sudeep Paul, the director of the foundation, said that the awards ceremony is scheduled for February 11. He highlighted the significance of the award program as a platform to acknowledge and celebrate remarkable contributions across diverse domains, including literature, arts, education, music, media, and social service.

The awardees for the 2024 Sandesha Awards are as follows:
Literature (Kannada): BA Viveka Rai
Literature (Konkani): Valerian Quadras
Literature (Tulu): Muddu Moodubele
Media: Abdussalam Puttige
Konkani Music: Julian Alwyn D’Cunha
Art: Chandranth Acharya
Education: Hucchamma
Special Award: Jana Shikshana Trust

The ceremony, set to take place this year, will be presided over by Dr. Peter Machado, the archbishop of Bangalore and president of Karnataka Regional Bishops Conference. U T Khader, the speaker of the Karnataka legislative assembly, will be the chief guest. Notable guests include Dr. Henry D’Souza, the bishop of Bellary and chairman of the institute, Dr. Peter Paul Saldanha, the bishop of Mangalore, Dr. Gerald Isaac Lobo, the bishop of Udupi, Dr. Sudeep Paul, MSFS, the director of Sandesha, and Roy Castelino and Fr. Ivan Pinto, the trustees of the institute.
