According to the investigation, the accused had crossed the India-Bangladesh border around three months ago and entered India through Murshidabad in West Bengal. They allegedly procured original Aadhaar cards belonging to local residents in West Bengal, pasted their own photographs on them, and created forged identity documents using colour photocopies.

The eight men had reportedly been working and residing in the Mukka area for the past two months, posing as construction labourers.

On suspicion, the workers were taken to the police station and subjected to intensive questioning, during which police recovered their Bangladesh National Identity Cards, birth certificates, and other family-related documents, confirming their Bangladeshi origin.

Preliminary investigations indicate that the accused had come to Mangaluru in search of daily wage employment. A report regarding the arrests has been submitted to the Foreigners Regional Registration Office (FRRO), Bengaluru, for further action.
